Disclaimer: The content of this post is for informational purposes only and is not intended to point out or harm anyone. The behavior pillars discussed—excitement, attack, realization, and peace—are part of the diverse human experience. There is nothing inherently right or wrong regarding these behaviors and each plays a necessary role in our journey of self-discovery and understanding. This exploration aims to offer insights into human behavior and promote personal growth. The author too is a fellow traveler learning and sharing insights along this journey called life.
Have you ever noticed the stark contrast between those who thrive on excitement and those who find solace in stillness?
You’ve probably encountered that person with seemingly boundless energy—the one who’s open to everything, tackles challenges with enthusiasm, reacts quickly, and moves at a fast pace.
On the other hand, there’s the individual whose calm demeanor seems almost suspicious. They observe more than they speak, rarely react and often walk away during conflicts. I can relate because that person is me. I'm one of those calm individuals who tend to talk and react less than most.
Today, I invite you to explore the four pillars of human behavior and understand why peace is the ultimate goal. Let’s dive in!
Excitation
Excitation represents that high-energy state. It doesn’t mean foolishness, but can limit the amount of learning you extract from an experience. The comfort and pleasure of excitement can blind you to deeper insights, making you unaware of the consequences of being in a constant state of high energy.
Attack
When we pour our heart and soul into something, an attack—whether it’s heartbreak or disappointment—becomes almost inevitable. This serves as a reminder not to get too attached to anything that has the power to hurt you.
Realization
Realization is the phase when we learn our lessons and grasp the true significance of things in our lives. It’s the point where, after enduring challenging experiences and observing our reactions, we finally understand who we truly are. This realization often guides us to the next pillar—a pillar embraced by the calm, yet unsettling to the excitable.
Peace
Peace is the ultimate end—the destination we all eventually need to reach. In peace, all our learnings converge. We prioritize our mental health, engage only in what truly matters, and let go of the unnecessary clutter in our lives. This is where we discover our true selves—at peace.
Why Do Most People Avoid Peace?
Many people tend to avoid peace because it often seems boring and lacks excitement.
In a culture that celebrates thrill and constant action, peace can feel uninteresting—until you experience the clarity and wisdom it brings through perseverance and acceptance.
Additionally, pursuing peace can sometimes create feelings of disconnection.
While others dive into the fast pace of life, choosing a calmer path might leave you feeling out of sync and concerned about missing out on your circle and fun experiences.
However, day by day, more people are beginning to appreciate the true value of peace, which is good news!
Final Insights
I hope this exploration of the four pillars of human behavior has given you some clarity on why some people are highly energetic while others are calm and at peace.
Again, nothing wrong with any of these traits; they are just paths humans choose from their past experiences, thought-processes, and belief systems.
But the one thing calm souls, the ones in the path of peace, know is that they are in control of what they let affect them.
This awareness—that you can choose what to take into your mind—is a valuable takeaway.
Knowing you’re in control allows you to be more mindful of your emotions and how you spend your energy. You are in control of yourself.
