Are You Actually Missing Something?
What are the things that you feel you are missing out on right now? What places do you wish you were there right now? What fun in life are you missing out now in your life? There definitely will be something coming up in your mind that you wish you were experiencing right now.
This ‘wish’ missing out feeling is common and inevitable. These feelings are often caused by expectations and your delusion of that thing being able to make your life better than what you are currently living through.
But the weird part of life is we never know what results the alternative choice gives in our lives because we have not chosen it. We may look at somebody else’s life who has chosen that alternative and is experiencing something that is presumably better than what you are living through right now. This is a mere delusion caused by unsatisfied expectations and low self-worth. This type of judgment over our own lives is completely meaningless as no two people live the same lives. One decision that works for one may not work for the other because of the vast difference in life situations, thought processes, and sometimes, mere luck.
So this comparison of our lives with someone else who has nothing to do with ours is only a source of delusion of dissatisfaction with our own lives, and due to the cause, our misunderstanding of others’ lives being better.
This is one of the really bad effects that social media has had on us. We are mostly unaware of the fact that people only share the happy and colorful parts of their lives and not their days of depression. This leads to subconsciously believing that others are living a much better life than us and that we are unworthy or incapable of living that life.
Just like these feelings, Life is just an amalgamation of misunderstandings, expectations, assumptions, and as a whole a mere delusion. Life is just passing through and enjoying a mere inevitable delusion. What a Life!
“All beings are born to delusion overcome by the dualities that arise from wish and hate.”
-Bhagavad Gita, Chapter 7, Text 27
“The life of this world is nothing but delusion.”
-Quran, Surah Al-Hadid-20
In fact, you are missing out on nothing but your own life that you are living through right now, believing that you are missing out on so many things. You are living your best life now that is most beneficial to you and you may not even know it. You are living what you exactly deserve and you deserve even more good that will one day come your way and you may not even know it.
“You cannot lose another life than the one you are living now, or live another one than the one you are losing.”
-Marcus Aurelius
One More Thing…
One more thing that I wanted to tell you is you are not missing out on anything when you are working for your dreams. You are not missing parties. You are not missing hanging around with toxic people. You are focused on your goals. You are missing out on nothing when you are working for your dreams. In that state, there is nothing called sacrifice. You are just doing the needful and that will surely pay off.
One More One more thing…🙄
There are some things in life that you are actually missing out on and if you do grab them as soon as possible. These are good friendships, good time with family, and living your happiest life with your loved ones. Never miss those little moments of your life. You are missing out on nothing when you are spending time with your family.
