Hey Guys👋
The book The Power of Your Subconscious Mind by Dr. Joseph Murphy is a mind-opening book about how harnessing the potential of the subconscious mind can transform one’s life, promoting success, happiness, and overall well-being.
The book emphasizes the power of positive thinking and mental imagery to influence one’s subconscious and achieve desired outcomes.
Today’s post is on reflecting on the first two chapters of the book that empowered me to enhance my mental caliber through the knowledge of prayer, the inner subconscious, the interaction between the conscious and subconscious mind, and the objective and subjective mind.
Hope you enjoy this post where I dive into what I learned from reading the first two chapters of the book
Disclaimer: Not a Book Review!
The Prayer
The First thing that Joseph Murphy talks about is the importance of prayer and praying effectively. He says that most people pray when they are in trouble and this doesn’t need to be the case.
He says that you don’t have to wait for the trouble to pray. Joseph clarifies,
“It is not the thing believed in that brings an answer to man’s prayer; the answer to prayer results when the individual’s subconscious mind responds to the mental picture or thought in his mind”
The law of life is the law of belief, and belief could be summed up briefly as a thought in your mind.
A technique, a methodology based on an understanding of what you are doing and why you are doing it will help you to bring about a subconscious embodiment of all the good things of life.
He says that answered prayer is the realization of your own heart’s desire.
The Inner Subconscious
In the first chapter, The Treasure House Within You, he says that everybody is born with a subconscious mind which explored can bring in infinite wisdom, infinite power, and an infinite supply of all that is necessary, which is waiting for development and expression.
The infinite intelligence within your subconscious mind can reveal to you everything you need to know at every moment of time and point of space provided you are open-minded and receptive.
Within your subconscious mind, you will find the solution for every problem, and the cause for every effect.
There is a miraculous healing power in your subconscious that can heal the troubled mind and the broken heart. Your subconscious mind is a principle and works according to the law of belief.
The law of your mind is the law of belief.
The belief of your mind is the thought of your mind. When you begin to control your thought processes, you can apply the powers of your subconscious to any problem or difficulty.
The Interaction Between the Two Minds
Knowledge of the interaction of your conscious and subconscious minds will enable you to transform your whole life. To change external conditions, you must change the cause. Your thoughts form the mold or matrix through which the infinite intelligence, wisdom, vital forces, and energies of your subconscious flow.
“Never finish a negative statement; reverse it immediately, and wonders will happen in your life.
Objective and the Subjective Mind
Your conscious mind is sometimes referred to as your objective mind because it deals with outward objects. The objective mind takes cognizance of the objective world. Your objective mind is your guide and director in your contact with your environment. You gain knowledge through your five senses. Your objective mind learns through observation, experience, and education.
Your subjective mind takes cognizance of its environment by means independent of the five senses. Your subjective mind perceives things by intuition. Your subjective mind sees without the use of the natural organs of vision. It has the capacity for clairvoyance and clairaudience.
Think good, and good follows. Think evil, and evil follows. You are what you think all day long.
You have the power to choose. Choose health and choose happiness.
The suggestions of others have no power to hurt you. The only power is the movement of your own thoughts. You can choose to reject the thoughts or statements of others and affirm the good. You have the power to choose how you will react.
“ I am the captain of my soul. I am the master of my fate”.
-William Ernest Henley
I think that finishes up with what I have read. Again don’t see it as a book review. It is just my thoughts about the book and the points that I found interesting.
Hope you got something out of this and helped you in making your life just a little bit better.
